Smartphones now dominate the mobile industry. There are many to choose from and every smartphone has its own unique features. Purchasing a smartphone is a big decision because especially the high end models cost quite a bit. With new models coming out every 6 months purchasing future proof model is important. Each one of us will have a different requirement. Some of us may want a long battery life, some may want a high resolution screen and some may want a speedy phone. There are many popular models from Apple, Samsung, HTC, Sony, Huawei and many new Chinese companies such as Meizu and One Plus. Here is a list of the most popular high end offerings currently available.
Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge
Samsung popularity rose considerably after the release of their successful Galaxy line of smartphones. Currently the Samsung Galaxy series is the highest selling android phone. The Galaxy S7 has a 5.2 inch AMOLED screen which is a type of OLED screen and has good battery life. Other features include a fingerprint reader, heart rate sensor, 12 Megapixel camera, high end processor and all wireless capabilities. This model is a popular option for many buyers. The S7 Edge had a 5.5 inch AMOLED screen and is known to have better battery life than its smaller sibling the Galaxy S7. It has all the features of the S7 and the Edge is popular for its curved screen which gives the user additional features to use.
Apple iPhone 7 and 7 Plus
Apple iPhone 7 is Apple’s latest iPhone. Compared to the other phones iPhones run on iOS which is Apple’s operating system. The iPhone 7 display is sized at 4.7 inches and has a 12 Megapixel camera. Usually iPhones have lower specs than their Android counterpart but this is due to the high optimisation Apple devices have as hardware and software are both created by Apple. The iPhone is one of the most popular devices in the world. iPhones are made to be used as they are and not to be tinkered with, therefore an apple iPhone screen repair would cost more than an android phone. Now the cost of repair seems to have gone down as many 3rd party repairs are taken place at much lower prices.
Apple’s iPhone 7 Plus is a bigger version of the iPhone 7 and has a display that is 5.5 inches. There other few changes that make the iPhone 7 Plus little more than a bigger version of the iPhone 7. The iPhone 7 Plus is the third time Apple introduces a Plus model after the iPhone 6 Plus and 6s Plus. Similar to the iPhone 7, the iPhone 7 Plus and iphone 6 plus screen repairs cost more than their Android counterpart.
LG G5 was LG’s offering to the high end segment. It ran on Android and had similar features to the Galaxy S7. The G5 had a 5.3 inch screen and 18 Megapixel camera. The LG G5 was mostly popular because it came with a removable battery which is not available in any other high end devices and its ‘Magic slot’, a term coined by LG in which a user could purchase further add-on modules. These were the most popular devices. Other phones such as the Google Pixel, HTC 10 and Sony and One Plus were available but the above models were the most popular.
